Everyone involved with GOSA is a volunteer, from the founding members and current Board of Directors to the many people who volunteer their skills in countless ways. Whether you join us once a year at cleanup events, or frequently throughout the year, you not only help us fulfill our mission, you contribute to keeping the natural beauty of Southeastern CT safe for generations to come.

Board Interest

The GOSA Board of Directors consists of 5-12 persons elected by the membership at the annual meeting to jointly supervise the activities of the non-profit organization.  The structure, responsibilities, and powers given to the Board are determined by the bylaws. The Board generally meets monthly but no less than 10 times per year. Expectations for Directors includes attending Board meetings, chairing at least one of the working committees, and participating in other committees as needed (or desired). In terms of time commitment, it can vary based on the roles/functions you take on from 4-6 hrs per month.

Committee Interest

GOSA Committees are the working groups that make all things happen from recording keeping to grant writing to fund raising to property evaluation, acquisition, and stewardship. All committees can use the support of our membership to help proactively and effectively support GOSA’s current and future needs.
