Town Council Approves New Land-Use Fee Ordinance

GROTON–The Town Council unanimously approved Nov. 8, 2006, an ordinance that would increase fees for town review of land-use applications and would give land-use commissions the power to bill developers for hiring experts to evaluate complex applications.

The ordinance now goes to the Representative Town Meeting. If the RTM doesn’t veto the measure, it becomes effective after a statutory period of about a month and a half from the RTM de facto ratification.

Post-publication note: The RTM did not veto the measure, and it became effective Jan. 29, 2007
